Sethu Institute of Technology

    

Sethu   Institute   of   Technology,    the   brainchild   of  our  Founder  &  Chairman,    Mr. S. Mohamed Jaleel,  has  been  rendering  its  noble   service  since  1995  catering  to  the  sustained  growth  of  the  educationally,  industrially  and economically  backward   rural  areas. The  college  started  with  180  students  in  the  year  1995  with  three  UG  Programmes has  recorded  a  stupendous  growth  of  expanding  to    the strength  of  4799  students  with  8   UG  courses  and   7  Post Graduate   programmes.

 

The purpose of education is to make an individual a unique personality so as to help the society with the vistas of new ideas.  With  this  focus  in  mind  and  with  the  blessings  of  the  Almighty,  our  zealous  SETHU   EDUCATIONAL  TRUST  established  SETHU  INSTITUTE  OF  TECHNOLOGY  in  the  year  1995  at  Pulloor,  Kariapatti – 626 106,  Virudhunagar  District  with  the motto   of “KNOWLEDGE, SERVICE, PROGRESS”.

  The  College  which  is  located  on  Madurai   –  Tuticorin  National  Highway   (NH 45B),  Pulloor,  Kariapatti,  Virudhunagar  District  is  just  12 KM  away  from  Madurai  airport.  The  campus  is spread  over  a  sprawling land  of  132  acres  providing  a tranquil  and  right  learning ambience  for  aspiring  students.

Sethu Institute of Technology (SIT) is an ISO 9001-2008 Certified Institution, affiliated to Anna University Chennai and Approved by AICTE, New Delhi. Our College has been conferred Autonomous status by UGC and confirmed by Anna University,Chennai,from the academic year 2013-2014. Our Institution was established in the year 1995, by the Founder and Chairman Mr.S.Mohamed Jaleel B.Sc., B.L., with a motto of “Knowledge, Service and Progress”. The Institution has 132 acres of land near Madurai and it is situated on the Madurai – Tuticorin National Highway. Our Institution has good infrastructure facilities and dedicated faculty members. Sethu Institute of Technology offers 8 Under Graduate programmes in Engineering and Technology and 7 Post Graduate programmes. Our Institution has been accredited by National Board of Accreditation, AICTE, New Delhi, for 4 UG programmes.

  The Founder and Chairman, Mr. S. Mohamed Jaleel strongly believes in the dictum that success comes to those who want and deserve it.  He has a great ambition and  benevolence  focused to the process of metamorphosis from illiteracy to academic excellence of the rural people. He had the urge to serve the needy ever since his school days. He was an illustrious student in St.Joseph’ s College, Trichy.  He came out with flying colors and joined law and was awarded Degree of Bachelor of Law by Madras Law College.

    With a vision to impart the  technical knowledge to the economically, socially and industrially backward people, the Founder & Chairman established Sethu Institute of Technology at Pulloor village, near Kariapatti in Virudhunagar District in the year 1995. He has been successful in his pursuit of offering quality education to rural poor as thousands and thousands of rural students are being   benefited by his  philanthropic attitude. His outstanding service to the ruralites has crowned him with many awards like, Communal Harmony Award by the Peace Trust, Kanyakumari, Best Administrator Award and Maamanithar Award by Victoria Edward Hall, Madurai. His service to the rural people is a constant endeavour that makes him a  living legend.

    It is this courage and conviction of our Chairman that has taken Sethu Institute of Technology to soaring heights within a span of Seventeen years.
